Obama Plays the ‘Race Card Card’ AGAIN! [Update 4: Video]

July 31, 2008

Enough is enough already. Race baiting hustler. “Bamboozling” and “hoodwinking” your way through the campaign playing the same old tired ass refrain, ‘Oh Lordy Y’all, Let Me Assuage Your White Guilt’. Meanwhile reinforcing the stereotype that all white conservative are racist. Good God man have you no self respect? Nasty rhetoric for one who is half white and who was presumably the post racial poster child candidate. Is it safe to say O has thrown his white blood under the bus permanently? Heh.

“Nobody thinks that Bush or McCain have a real answer for the challenges we face. So what they are going to try to do is make you scared of me,” Obama warned, “You know he’s not patriotic enough. He’s got a funny name. You know, he doesn’t look like all of those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

ABC News has the video up here.
Editors note: I have updated with an embedded video below.

In Springfield Mo today Obama regurgitated nearly word for word the “race card card” from the Jacksonville Fl fund raiser he attended.

“We know what kind of campaign they are going to run. They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young. He’s inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And, did I mention he’s black.

Then there is this race bait bomb O dropped in Berlin.

I know that I don’t look like the Americans (ORLY? What of Paul Robeson, Martin Luther King, Jesse Jackson, Colin Powell and Condi Rice? -VH) who’ve previously spoken in this great city. The journey that led me here is improbable. My mother was born in the heartland of America, but my father grew up herding goats in Kenya.

Obama’s YouTube has the full video up of his Springfield appearence here. The statement in question comes in at the 24 minute mark. Note the video length is 27:33.

McCain camp accuses Obama of playing “race card”
Rick Davis McCain’s longtime campaign manager:

[…] “Barack Obama has played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck. It’s divisive, negative, shameful and wrong,” said McCain Campaign Manager Rick Davis Thursday, citing multiple statements by Obama yesterday.[…]

[…] No response yet from Camp Obama.

Update 2:
As reported moments ago on Fox News. Obama’s camp responds to the race card accusation.

“Obama’s campaign folks coming out moments ago saying that is absolutely not what we are doing. We believe that he has not played the race card at all. But we do believe that John McCain’s campaign has taken the low road in this current tactic.

OMG! How can they lie right straight to our faces like that? Obama’s campaign is becoming more and more pathological by the minute.

Addressing supporters Tuesday night at a fundraiser in Springfield, he said, “It’s a leap, electing a 46-year-old black guy named Barack Obama.”

Update 3:
From Gateway Pundit

Obama’s campaign manager on April 25, 2008, during National Journal interview:
The vast, vast majority of voters who would not vote for Barack Obama in November based on race are probably firmly in John McCain’s camp already

Update 4: I have found a video version of Obama’s scare tactic statement. This footage was shot in Union Mo. It has been reported Obama repeated himself during all three appearances while stumping in Missouri yesterday.
Drilling the racially charged point home as it were. Nothing off the cuff about it.

Does any public mention of race white amount to “playing the race card”? What subtopics within the genre of race in the US would not be an instance of playing this card?

You say that mentioning his father’s ancestry playing the race card? When McCain talks about his mother being born in Oklahoma, is he also playing the race card? McCain was born in Panama: does him mentioning that mean he is playing the race card?

I’m just trying to figure out what criteria those who play the ‘race card’ card are using. It seems, sadly, that there are none, so the ‘race card’ has ironically become the race card card.

Let me get this straight. He got compared to two white women. That’s racist? I wonder what would have happened to Bambi’s feelings if someone made Aunt Jemima cartoons of him like the liberal MSM did of Condi.
