First let’s take a few steps back…

Obama’s Alinsky Lessons

Barack Obama had just graduated from Columbia and was looking for a job. Some white leftists were looking for someone who could recruit in a black neighborhood in the south side of Chicago.

Obama answered a help-wanted ad for a position as a community organizer for the Developing Communities Project (DCP) of the Calumet Community Religious Conference (CCRC) in Chicago. Obama was 24 years old, unmarried, very accustomed to a vagabond existence, and according to his memoir, searching for a genuine African-American community.

Both the CCRC and the DCP were built on the Alinsky model of community agitation, wherein paid organizers learned how to “rub raw the sores of discontent,” in Alinsky’s words.

Mike Kruglik one of Obama’s early mentors in the Alinsky Method
in speaking of Obama.
One could surmise “rubbing raw the sores of discontent”

“He was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue, nudging them to admit that they were not living up to their own standards. As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he (Obama) would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better.”

Sound familiar? It should.

I attended a conservative Republican picnic a couple of weeks ago. A well-known conservative activist in our county had a poster I would die to own.

It was a cardboard play-bill poster with a picture of Saul Alinsky on it done in the usual clenched-fist, Soviet poster-art style (think of the “Che” portraiture on tee-shirts, etc.).

The poster advertised a coming political-theater play, “The Love of Saul Alinsky”, at the Blue Rider Theater on Halsted St., Chicago, located in the run-down general area of Obama’s prowling and preying grounds as a “community organizer”. The run of the play was Sept. 4 to Oct. 3 – 1998.

The poster announced a “panel discussion” after the play…..with a list of about a dozen Chicago far-left and radical participants. Included were Dr. Quentin Young, Chicago physician and noted anti-war activist and “social justice” warrior, Studs Terkel, long time Chicago radio personality, noted author and noted communist…, Illinois State Senator, Barack Obama, former noted south-side Chicago “community organizer”, street hustler, and supporter of radical Black Liberation theology and other leftist “isms”.

Now for the praise of Obama and in tandem the DNC.
By none other that Saul Alinsky’s son L. David Alinsky

How sweet it is.

In Artful Dodger style, Barack Obama, plays down his mentorship with Communist author Saul Alinsky. But Alinsky’s son, L. David Alinsky, credits Obama for “learning his lesson well” from the Communist guru.

Indeed, Alinsky Jr. who credits his late father for the success of last week’s Democratic National Convention, may have done something that Obama’s detractors couldn’t: blown the cover on the presidential hopeful’s communist leanings.

No one can blame Alinsky for the pretentiousness of the Ancient Greek Temple from which Obama addressed plebes, or for the tacky neon colours on display at the Pepsi Centre, but it was Alinsky who wrote Rules for Radicals, the bible of the far left.

Says Alinsky’s son L. David Alinsky of his father’s influence at the Dem Convention: “ALL the elements were present: the individual stories told by real people of their situation and hardships, the packed-to-the rafters crowd, the crowd’s chanting of key phrases and names, the action on the spot of texting and phoning to show instant support and commitment to jump into the political battle, the rallying selections of music, the setting of the agenda by the power people.”

“The Democratic National Convention had all the elements of the perfectly organized event, Saul Alinsky style, the Communist guru’s son wrote in a letter published yesterday in the Boston Globe. […]

Son sees father’s handiwork in convention

I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.

I’ll leave you all with this Alinskyism.

There’s another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution.”

Obama: “…there was an explicitly political aspect to the mission and message of Trinity at that time that I found appealing.”

So then, Barama really is a commie at heart. There must have been something normal for a Columbia grad to do.

    Welcome to my humble abode.

I think his political leanings early in his life came from his mother and the communist influences she had beginning in high school (Mercer High School – Mercer Island) Washington State, and continuing throughout her college days.
Plus the church his mother’s family attended in Washington State the East Shore Unitarian Church was nicknamed “The Little Red Church on the Hill”.
The chairman of the Mercer Island school board, John Stenhouse testified before the House Un-American Activities Subcommittee that he had been a member of the Communist Party.” Stenhouse also once served as church president of the litttle red church.
Where by the way there were “Well-publicized debates and forums on such controversial subjects as the admission of ‘Red China’ to the United Nations….” According to the church’s own website.
