What the hell is that darn thing?

September 9, 2008

Could use some help here.

In regards to a medallion Barack Obama is wearing around his neck in a family photo taken while in Indonesia, reader carlos asks:

Does anyone know/understand the significance of the medallion that lil barry is wearing?

It looks to be to be some sort of symbol depicting a ‘man’.
Perhaps an ancient Indonesian native or tribal symbol.

Any guesses, theories or knowledge as to what it is and what it symbolizes?

If so please share.

Wish I knew, I looked for about an hour for an answer to this out of curiosity and found nada on the internet. I made a bigger shot just of it if you want it
Maybe it is just what is it, Barry’s little stickman medallion that he made in the happy madrassa he was schooled in over in Indonesia for a spell that everyone in the media insists was just a friendly madrassa and Barry was just a  MINO/ Muslim in name only.

Can’t help much unfortunately. I’ve been wracking my brains trying to remember where I have seen that symbol, or something very like it, before but to no avail. It reminds me very much of aboriginal i.e. indigenous, rock art style work, which might be why it looks familiar, it could have some association with Africa.

    Thanks Guys

I have just looked some more and hit a brick wall.
It is a wild goose chase when you do not know what you are looking for in the first place.
