Rashid Khalidi’s June 23, 2007 keynote address at the “Palestine: 40 Years of Occupation, 60 Years of Dispossession”

October 31, 2008

This should give us all an understanding of how Rashid Khalidi feels about Israel and the US Government. I suggest he swim his sorry ass back to Palestine,..but that is just me.

Note it was in 2007 and the suppressed LA Times Barack Obama toasting Rashid Khalidi tape was taped in 2003.
More on that after video.

Columbia University Edward Said Professor of Arab Studies, Rashid Khalidi’s keynote address at the “Palestine: 40 Years of Occupation, 60 Years of Dispossession” conference in Portland, Oregon, on June 23, 2007

Meanwhile as I mentioned above we are still waiting for The LA Times
to release the Obama – Khalidi tape

A special tribute came from Khalidi’s friend and frequent dinner companion, the young state Sen. Barack Obama. Speaking to the crowd, Obama reminisced about meals prepared by Khalidi’s wife, Mona, and conversations that had challenged his thinking.

And yet the warm embrace Obama gave to Khalidi, and words like those at the professor’s going-away party, have left some Palestinian American leaders believing that Obama is more receptive to their viewpoint than he is willing to say.

At Khalidi’s 2003 farewell party, for example, a young Palestinian American recited a poem accusing the Israeli government of terrorism in its treatment of Palestinians and sharply criticizing U.S. support of Israel. If Palestinians cannot secure their own land, she said, “then you will never see a day of peace.”

One speaker likened “Zionist settlers on the West Bank” to Osama bin Laden, saying both had been “blinded by ideology.”

RED ALERT Tip: Two quotes from the Obama-Khalidi videotape

Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can’t release it is because statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying “Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine” plus there’s been “genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis.”

It would be really controversial if it got out. That’s why they will not even let a transcript get out.
