Are the invasive tentacles of 'Big Gov' reaching out to control pregnant mothers through their womb?

If  “H.R. 20, The Melanie Blocker Stokes Mom’s Opportunity to Access Health, Education, Research, and Support for Postpartum Depression Act”

is everything  it’s opponents claim it is…

…it is horrifying.

What Every American needs to know about the “MOTHER’S Act” – America’s Trial By Fire

There is currently a bill in committee in the Senate that has passed already in the House called the MOTHER’s Act. It was shut down a few years ago, but it is back and has the support of a Democratic Congress that it needs to become law. I will be going over (1) What this Bill means (2) What you need to know and (3) What you need to do (4) What is this Bill’s Greater Significance.

(1) What does this bill mean exactly?

First ,in the House it is H.R. 20, in the Senate it is S. 324. It claims to support expectant mothers by giving mental health screenings to help avoid Post-Partum Depression. Furthermore, the language is so broad and vague, any absence of protections for individual rights allows them to be not only walked all over at the government’s desire, but buried six feet below the ground.

Secondly, why is it so dangerous?

A) Nowhere in the bill does it mention informed consent.

If it is enforced in the same vein as similar bills already in effect in Illinois and New Jersey – it will be mandatory NATIONWIDE. This means – with the same power the government can use, through Social Services programs, to take children away from parents based on anonymous reports – it can be used to force mental health evaluations and subsequently make other decisions for the child or mother.

– For Information on the bills from other states please see:

  • Important Extract: “Physicians and other licensed health care workers providing prenatal and postnatal care to women shall assess new mothers for postpartum mood disorder symptoms at a prenatal check-up visit in the third trimester of pregnancy, prior to discharge from the hospital or other healthcare facility, and at the initial postnatal check-up visit and at each postnatal check-up visit thereafter until the infant’s first birthday. Physicians and other licensed health care workers providing pediatric care to an infant shall assess the infant’s mother for postpartum mood disorder symptoms at any well-baby check-up at which the mother is present prior to the infant’s first birthday in order to ensure that the health and well-being of the infant are not compromised by an undiagnosed postpartum mood disorder in the mother.” (emphasis added)
  • VERY IMPORTANT Video Please watch:

D) Nowhere would doctors be required to warn expectant mothers of the dangerous side effects of many antidepressants, antipsychotics and anti-anxiety medications (side effects which can include spontaneous abortions, still births, birth defects, worsening depression, suicidal and homicidal ideation, mania, depression, psychosis –documented by the U.S. FDA)

E) Noncompliance with mental health treatment could be found as grounds to remove children from custody, or as grounds for involuntarily being committed to a mental institution or otherwise confined against one’s will.

F) Post partum depression being treated BEFORE the post-partum period and beginning treatment for depression during pregnancy (or any other mental health condition) is not supported as a good practice by science and research. [will go into this further later]

For example: women who have been placed on (and often remain on) antidepressants throughout their pregnancy, are at increased risk of experiencing PPD following delivery.

Go read the rest and decide for yourselves.

This reminds me of the movie Changeling (based on a true story), the cops in that movie had the authority to throw women in the asylum as they saw fit and the “doctors” didn’t ask questions. But I do see how this could also lead to A Brave New World-type scenario where the government has a hidden agenda and tries to get mothers to brainwash their own children from day one: If the mother and or father is not raising the kid as Big Government sees fit, then she/he/they must be insane.

Also, there’s no need to put quotes around Big Government, after all, Big Government is WAY bigger than “Big Oil” and “Big Tobacco,” so it’s only fitting to call it Big Government.
