Global Fraud Al Gore Supports "Cap and Trade" No Debate About It

April 24, 2009

In case you hadn’t heard, our un-glorious leaders have began hearings on Cap and Trade Tax legislation.

Hearings began Tuesday afternoon in the Energy and Commerce Committee on the “American Clean Energy and Security Act,” otherwise known as the “Cap and Trade” legislation.

Blackburn challenges Gore’s motives

(Video and transcript at link)

Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) challenged Al Gore’s motives for supporting climate change legislation when the former VP appeared before a House panel today.

Blackburn noted Gore’s role as partner in Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm that invests in technology to address global warming.

Blackburn asked Gore if he stood to benefit financially from cap-and-trade legislation, which would force companies to reduce carbon emissions. Companies would likely turn to the kinds of technologies Kleiner Perkins helps develop.

The only green Gore is worried about is $$$ moolah $$$

In reading Al Gore’s official thoughts/delusions on the Cap and Trade bill, it’s official Gore has fallen off the deep end.

Gore said the bill was as important as the civil rights legislation passed by Congress in the 1960s giving African-Americans the right to vote, and the Marshall Plan of the late 1940s for rebuilding Europe after World War II.

Gore the green global fraud pot calling the skeptic scientist kettles fraudulent. (Please note Al Gore is NOT a climate scientist.)

Former VP Al Gore compared scientists who question global warming with indicted stock swindler Bernie Madoff Friday, arguing that they are all guilty of perpetuating a fraud.
[…]
They have committed a fraud larger than Madoff’s fraud….they lied to people who trusted them in order to make money,” Gore said.

Moving along in keeping with the same vein.  Now that Earth Day has come and gone and many of the sanctimonious hypocritical  Greenies have gone back about their usual routine of not panicking about the condition of Mother Earth. I thought these quotes would be good for a chuckle or two.  And hopefully a few face palms.

Revisiting Earth Day at it’s conception.

I Hate The Media

Here are some of the hilarious, spectacularly wrong predictions made on the occasion of Earth Day 1970.

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.”
Paul Ehrlich, Stanford University biologist

“Dr. S. Dillon Ripley, secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, believes that in 25 years, somewhere between 75 and 80 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.”
Sen. Gaylord Nelson

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

Back to the Goracle. If a man of Al Gore’s supposed stature who has been pimping his “global warming” theory.. er..um…excuse me “climate change” globally, expecting everyone to willingly bow at the altar,  and is 100% confident in his claims. Then you would think he would welcome  debate to beat back his detractors once and for all. If he comes out on top all the better for his “cause”.  Right? How telling it is he runs away from open honest debate. How telling indeed.

In 2007 Lord Monckton a former policy adviser to Margaret Thatcher challenged Al Gore to “an internationally televised, head-to-head, nation-unto-nation confrontation on the question, “That our effect on climate is not dangerous.”

E-WIRE PRESS RELEASE

Al Gore Afraid of Debate

Al Gore afraid of debate prefers to hide under his desk instead

Monckton calls on the former Vice President to “step up to the plate and defend his advocacy of policies that could do grave harm to the welfare of the world’s poor. If Mr. Gore really believes global warming is the defining issue of our time, the greatest threat human civilization has ever faced, and then he should welcome the opportunity to raise the profile of the issue before a worldwide audience of billions by defining and defending his claims against a serious, science-based challenge”.

The arena of the glittering “Second Great Debate” will be the elegant, Victorian-Gothic Library of the Oxford Museum of Natural History, which was the setting for the “Great Debate” between the natural scientist T. H. Huxley and Bishop “Soapy Sam” Wilberforce on the theory of evolution, following the publication of Darwin’s Origin of Species. Lord Monckton says he chose this historic venue “not only because the magnificent, Gothic architecture will be a visually-stunning setting for the debate but also because I hope that in this lofty atmosphere the caution and scepticism of true science will once again prevail, this time over the shibboleths and nostrums of the false, new religion of climate alarmism.”

Lord Monckton’s resounding challenge to Al Gore reads as follows –

“The Viscount Monckton of Brenchley presents his compliments to Vice-President Albert Gore and by these presents challenges the said former Vice-President to a head-to-head, internationally-televised debate upon the question “That our effect on climate is not dangerous”, to be held in the Library of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History at a date of the Vice-President’s choosing.

“Forasmuch as it is His Lordship who now flings down the gauntlet to the Vice-President, it shall be the Vice-President’s prerogative and right to choose his weapons by specifying the form of the Great Debate. May the Truth win! Magna est veritas, et praevalet. God Bless America! God Save the Queen!”

I previously posted a speech given by Lord Monctkon on this very topic here: Climate Change: The Forces of Darkness vs. Age of Enlightenment and Reason Monckton is a firebrand — it is an enlightening entertaining speech with a bite.

Gore's childish retort to critics. I'm right, you are wrong Nanananana

Neither Gore nor any bed-wetter will any longer dare to debate the science of climate with us or anyone in the light of day. Gore’s speaking contract stipulates that he will not debate, he will not answer unscripted questions, and he will not be interviewed except by journalists acceptable to him. Which journalists are they? The dim ones that don’t know any science, and the prejudiced ones that don’t care. Just about all of them.
Recently four of us in this room were invited to a meeting of Government and opposition leaders and policymakers in Madrid, to debate the science and economics of climate against Al Gore (not a climate scientist); Railroad Engineer Pachauri, the head of the U.N.’s climate science working group (not a climate scientist); Sir Nicholas Stern, the author of the U.K. Socialist Government’s joke report on the economics of climate change (not a climate scientist); and the Environment Minister of Spain (not a climate scientist).

All four of us–three climate scientists and I (not a climate scientist) accepted the invitation to debate. All four of them refused. They said they would only come if they could speak on their own, without facing any challenge, any debate, any question, any fact, any inconvenient truth. Not one of them dared to face us. They did not have what in English we should call the cojones.

There was no climate crisis. There is no climate crisis. There will be no climate crisis. “Global warming” is not a global crisis. It is a global scientific fraud.

Lord Monckton is not alone in his questioning of Al Gore.

More than 31,000 U.S. scientists (including 9,029 with PhDs) have signed a petition rejecting the claims that human release of greenhouse gases is damaging our climate — see www.petitionproject.org

I can see if there was one lone pathetic conspiracy nut out there whining for a debate but even…

Czech President Klaus wanted to debate Gore but Gore refused the offer back in March. Gore won’t event answer direct questions about the topic and just gives a silly answer of “I want to save humanity”.

gore-hot-airMy unscientific but common sense approach conclusion is until Gore faces down his skeptical critics he is contributing nothing to the debate but hot air.

    Americans for Prosperity
Don’t Use Climate Change to Hide Tax Hikes!

Congress is debating the largest tax increase in history, the cap-and-trade energy tax.

Cap-and-trade is a tax on coal, oil, and natural gas but instead of being a specific tax rate, the total level of use is capped and companies are forced to pay the government for emissions permits. They bid against each other to stay in business, and nobody knows how much the tax will be until they hold the auctions.

It’s a crazy, unpredictable tax, but it’s certainly a tax.

The Pelosi/Reid/Obama strategy is to hide the gigantic tax hikes they want to fund their bailouts and big government spending inside a global warming bill. The U.S. House of Representatives has been holding hearings all week to move forward on this scheme.

Last year, among friends in San Francisco, Obama explained what his cap-and-trade energy tax is supposed to do to ordinary Americans:

Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket… whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers.”

There is one simple way to put members of Congress on the record and figure out if this is about the environmental at all, or just an excuse to hide a big tax increase: Ask them to sign the Americans for Prosperity No Climate Tax Pledge, which pledges members to “oppose any legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”

So far we have over 100 lawmakers on the federal, state and local level. To stop this massive, hidden tax hike we need a lot more and we need your help!

Take action and tell your representatives to sign the pledge today!

It might help if you understood the first thing about climate science, velvethammer. What makes you think it is a “fraud”?

  3. April 30, 2009 4:41 pm

Gore himself is no climate scientist. And if you would bother to read my post you would know exactly where I stand. Also FYI Lord Monctkon does not admit to being a climate scientist either.

    Gore’s Profitable Environment

Ask yourself if Al Gore did not stand a chance at profiting from his climate change theory (for lack of a better term) would he even care. Not with standing the fact that Gore runs from debate. Red flag dude!

I asked you what makes you think it is a fraud. Is it Al Gore? No, he’s not a climate scientist, but neither does he need to be. He has decades of scientific research backing him up. “Skeptics” generally rely on straw man tactics and red herrings as their “arguments”.

What’s funny to me is, the fact that he is not a climate scientist actually hurts your case. You spend so much time debunking him, but he’s not even a qualified expert to debunk. You should be going after the big dogs. It’s been my experience that most of the commotion over Al Gore has been from “skeptics” like you. I certainly haven’t been convinced by anything he’s said. I still haven’t even watched his movie.

I guess I started off rude, and I’m sorry about that. I just get tired of dealing with deniers who won’t engage me on the issue and openly debate the facts. I really just want to find out why you don’t agree that man is mostly the reason for recent warming. Would you discuss that with me?
